A Ghostly Sub 19: 2) Saturday 06/02/12
40 mi w/ Newhall Bicycle Co (14 riders)
Rode from the shop out and over Newhall pass and down to Foothill Blvd. left at Polk,
then up to May Cyn Truck Trail, Santa Clarita Truck Trail, Camp 9, Sand Cyn, Bike Path, shop.
May Cyn is 5 miles of pavment with dirt patches that is a joy to ride up...
It is steep... 17% average grade for the measured 5 mi :)
Cool Morning, didn't get too hot on the climb.
Great pacelines out and back.
This was a fun one.
Back at the Shop we celebrated Hectors Birthday.

Another great evening in Paradise.
At GRR mm 6.47 there was a towtruck blocking the road, another OTS.
They were lucky, they only went over about 15' and the car was stopped by a large scrub oak.
Slow spin this evening.

A classic textbook evening in a perfect Paradise.
It doesn't get better than this.
6 riders, good pace-lines, this is how we roll....
Saw Wiley E Coyote at Monroe saddle, an old friend, he's been here before.
As was Jody she took one of the group pictures.
Thanks Jody, good seeing you out at Monroe again.
She rides up from the GMR side.
Wiley hung around till we left, he must of been waiting for the Road Runner....
Good fast spin for the climb up Reward and the final push over the top...

George rode with us this evening, new to the group.
Saw Matt at the Monroe turnaround.
At the top of the Reward climb Ron saw a San Bernarding Ring Necked Snake.
Took some pictures of this small critter.

56 mi w/Newhall Bicycle Co (16 riders)
Started off as a June Gloom morning.
But turned into a great day.
It was nice with the cooler morning.
Fast pace, good pacelines.
Every thing was good till about 5 miles from the shop on the way back.
I got 3 flats, but only had 2 tubes and 2 C02 cartridges,
used the patch kit on the last flat, but no air to fill it...
I had to give up my get out of jail free card, and call for the broom wagon.
