Went out at daybreak 5:00am already 79 degrees.
Beautiful morning, but could tell it would be a hot day.

Rode back reversing the trip down until exiting the SGRT
Took the high route home to use GMR & GRR back to Baldy
This route is a little longer - but spreads the 4000'+ climb over 20 miles instead of 7mi.
Ate lunch at PePe's in Azusa Yum!!
Getting pretty warm this afternoon drank extra water...
Continued on up GMR & GRR
It was over 100 degrees on the road!!!
A very prominent reminder of My Birthday Death Ride next week.
(I am probably going to move the DR date to a more favorable temperature day...

Anyway made it with barely enough water.

Day 1 of 2 day trip ~ 150 mi
72 mi July the 4th
Rode from Mt Baldy Village to Newport Beach.
Down front side to Baseline/Foothill to San Gabriel River Trail
down to Seal beach and PCH to Newport beach.
Good trip down, favorable winds most of the way.
Great 4th BBQ and many Fireworks displays visible in Newport.
