Then south to and around Bonelli
Ate lunch at Norms Cafe at Brackett Airport.
Returned to Rancho

81 mi 9500ft climbing w/Warren
The Death Ride aka Happy Birthday Ride.
Got an early start, the first half of ride from Baldy to Hwy 2 went well.
The 25 mile climb up was cool and pleasant.
After the turnaround at Hwy 2, the decent back into Azusa cyn,
I clipped a sharp rock and took out the sidewall of front tire,
after fixing and booting one slice, I rode about 100 more yards and another slice gave away, for a second flat....
used all tire resources fixing these 2 flats.
Crossed fingers, slowed decent to under 25, and hoped for no more mechanical issues.
The rest of the ride went well, just the normal grueling ride back to Baldy.
The last 2 climbs from the floor of Azusa Cyn to GRR, and the Reward climb are always hard.
The temp's today were mid 90's to 100 in the bottom of Azusa Canyon @ 1400'
And in the 70's around 6000'
There was a light breeze
Had SAG support for food and water
Great day and good friends

After a week off the bike, a slow evening spin through Paradise was the perfect RX.
Quiet road, not too hot, few bugs, great sunset.
An almost full moon at the edge of darkness.
