then took the SGRT north into the canyon to the end of the bike trail.
Went up a few hundred yards more to the old El Encanto turnoff.
And up to the site I remember as the El Encanto Restaurant
The restaurant is no longer
The site has turned into Azusa River Wilderness Park
and is part of Rivers and Mountains Conservancy

Rode the MWF at 10a on a Tuesday.
Nice temperature, not too hot.
80 at start 88 on return.
Very clear, very light traffic.
All N' all, fun ride.

75 mi w/John L, John H, and Garry.
8400 feet of climbing in the San Gabriel Mountains
The turnaround is a point about 2 miles past the Crystal Lake turnoff on Hwy 39
An absolute beautiful 80 degree day, you couldn't ask for better.
All had a great ride, no near death experiences this year.
Saw a recently released yard bear walking down along hwy 39
Yard bears are the ones caught in the foothill neighborhoods and returned to the mountains.
Had excellent SAG for this ride by Michael

East on Badillo/Bonita back to Claremont.

Warm day, 90 degrees in village upon return.
Quiet road, saw about a dozen long boarders going down GMR.
